Let me introduce myself.
I’m Dawn, the photographer-designer-all-around-creative-rain-loving-Seattle girl behind peek photography + design. I specialize in environmental portraiture and lifestyle photography for children and families.
With over ten years experience working in the photography industry, my work has been featured in a variety of publications and popular photography blogs including Kiwi Magazine, Shutterfly, Little Bellows, Light Inspired and In Beauty and Chaos. I am a proud member of The National Association of Professional Child Photographers and a photographer liaison for The Gold Hope Project, which donates photography sessions to families fighting childhood cancer.
My style can be described as joyful, bright and authentic. I capture the essence of children and families in their natural environments, doing what they love. Rather than photographing your child in a formal studio setting, I prefer shooting on location with natural light, capturing those authentic expressions you get from children doing what they enjoy most — just being themselves!
When I’m not taking pictures or obsessing over typography, I am busy chasing my son, road-tripping, ferry hopping, attempting to cook (badly) and just trying to find a quiet moment to squeeze in a few extra pages of whatever book I am currently reading.
I photograph children and families to capture the special connection that only they have. I love that I am able to provide them with a memory on paper — something they can look back on years from now and remember exactly what point they were at in their lives.
My goal as your photographer is to provide you with images that spark a flood of emotion: a moment frozen in time, a captured story, a memory you can hold in your hand.
